Royal Windsor Racecourse

Royal Windsor Racecourse holds race meetings from April to October including the popular Monday evening meetings during the summer.

Getting to the Racecourse

Arriving by train

There is an attractive ride by boat from downstream of Windsor Bridge direct to the racecourse on race days and evenings, very close to the Waterloo line station at Windsor and Eton Riverside. It links with incoming trains.
Those racegoers arriving at the Central Station can walk down the hill to the river (5 minutes) for the same service. Walk up the hill out of the station, turn left and walk down past Curfew Tower to Windsor Bridge.
The alternative is a taxi (taxi rank adjacent to the castle walls in Thames Street, opposite the Central Station) or take a pleasant 15-20 minute walk along the river, upstream, in the direction of Maidenhead.

Arriving by car

The racecourse lies to the west of Windsor on Maidenhead Road. From the M4 follow the signs to Windsor and take the first slip road after the river bridge, and turn right under the dual carriageway. From other directions follow the yellow AA signs.
