Tour Bus by Castle

Tour buses such as this offer an informative and enjoyable ride around Windsor, also taking in nearby Datchet and providing excellent photo opportunities.

The Band and the Guildhall

Flags, The Guildhall, and The Band returning from guard duty at the Castle. This impressive sight, with stirring marching band music, can be enjoyed at around 11.00am (even dates only - not Sundays) when the new guard marches with the band to the castle. About 11.30 the old guard returns to Victoria Barracks. The Guildhall (right) offers a good vantage point. Click here or more information about The Changing of the Guard

"Nell Gwyn's House", Church Street

Nell Gwynn's House, Church Street.

The mistress of Charles II, Nell Gwynn and her descendants, the Beauclerks, Dukes of St Albans, involved themselves very much with Windsor. Regrettably there is no evidence that Nell Gwynn herself lived in this building. Her accommodation, Burford Lodge, was much grander and was acquired by George III. Parts of Burford Lodge are now incorporated in the Royal Mews.
