London Symphony Orchestra Concerts at Barbican Centre

Nearest Station: Barbican Underground (Circle Line) from Paddington.
(Departs Windsor Central via Slough)

The London Symphony Orchestra continues to generate an enviable reputation for quite outstanding orchestral performances during its residency at The Barbican in The City of London. The orchestra attracts the world's greatest soloists and conductors every season, including Rostropovich, Maxim Vengerov, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Andre Previn and Sir Colin Davis, whose Berlioz, Bruckner and Sibelius cycles were landmarks.

If great orchestral playing excites you, then a visit to the Barbican will not disappoint especially in 2004, their Centenary Year!

Philharmonia Orchestra Concerts at The Royal Festival Hall

Nearest Station: Windsor Riverside to Waterloo Main Line. Direct - 55 minutes

The Philharmonia remains one of the world's, finest orchestras. Resident at The Festival Hall, Waterloo, and overlooking London's Thames, the music and the views will be thoroughly rewarding.

Oxford

The Jacqueline du Pre Building, St Hilda's College, Magdalen Bridge, Oxford

This small modern hall was opened in the mid-nineties and is ideal for recitals, chamber orchestra concerts and chamber music. It is also earning itself a reputation as a fine recording studio with many design features specifically with this in mind.

Basingstoke

Concerts of all kinds are held in this modern hall. The major London and provincial orchestras, plus touring orchestras form Europe and the USA regularly perform here with top flight soloists. Their concerts are often repeated in London and are sold out! Here you stand a very much better chance of a seat!

Basingstoke is best reached by car from Windsor. It is to the south west. Take the Bracknell road and follow signs to M3 where Basingstoke will be signposted. Once in Basingstoke, The Anvil will be signposted. Journey time approximately 40 minutes.

Travel by rail via Slough and Reading. Journey time 1 hour plus.
