Ideas for Conferences
in the Windsor Area

The Band and the Guildhall

Windsor offers a wide range of opportunities for great conferences, especially when overseas delegates are taking part. They will particularly appreciate the history of the area, the convenience for London and the attractive venues that the town has to offer.

Windsor must be one of the most tempting destinations in the UK, if not in Europe, for a group of business people to get together.
Throughout the Royal Windsor Web Site you will find much detailed information about our town and the purpose of this page is to bring this together, under one roof, so to speak, to help you in your conference planning.

Location

If location is an important element, then Windsor, being just 15-20 minutes from Heathrow Airport must make it very convenient for passengers arriving from anywhere in the world.

Convenient destinations

London is an attractive destination for a day out by your conference members and so, with the theatres and other attractions in the West End of London barely half an hour away by train (Windsor to Paddington) all London's attractions are available to you.
As Windsor is just a few miles to the west of London, the majority of other out of town sightseeing attractions are just that much more convenient to visit. For example, by car, the university city of Oxford is just 40 miles to the west with Blenheim Palace at Woodstock close by, (the birthplace of Winston Churchill), Stratford on Avon (Shakespeare country, 90 mins), Henley on Thames (rowing and museum, 22 minutes, longer during Regatta), Ascot Racecourse, (15 minutes - longer during Royal Ascot), Portsmouth and Southampton (1 hour 20 mins), Canterbury, Kent, (1 hour 40 minutes), Hampton Court (25 minutes), plus many more fascinating destinations within easy reach. Here is a link to these and other destinations that we hope are useful. Where to go.

Telephoning

When telephoning from overseas callers will need to use the UK code +44 where + indicates any additional number required by your local phone company or exchange. Then, ignore the (0) and continue with the Windsor area code, 1753 followed by the number which is normally six digits.

When telephoning from within the UK ignore the UK code (44) and start with 0 then continue with the Windsor area code, 1753, followed by the number which is normally six digits.
